What Are The Ohio State Buckeyes' Odds to Win the National Title This Season?

What Are The Ohio State Buckeyes' Odds to Win the National Title This Season?

Pressure is mounting in Columbus on the heels of back-to-back losses to rival Michigan and just one appearance in the College Football Playoff National Championship in the last eight seasons (a loss in 2020). Head coach Ryan Day and the Buckeyes can erase all that with a championship-level 2023 in which Ohio State will return some of the country’s best players — including Marvin Harrison Jr., who has some intriguing Heisman odds.

The Buckeyes are currently +700 to win the national championship, and sports bettors in the Buckeye State will have plenty of opportunities to bet on them on the many Ohio sports betting apps available for football season.

Ohio State Odds to Win the National Championship

The Buckeyes are still attempting to recreate 2014’s magical run under head coach Urban Meyer, and there’s hope that this year’s squad can do it. Bettors in the state can use the Ohio sportsbook promos to bet on Ohio State games, but some have time limits that prevent wagering on long-term futures with an initial bet.

That said, bonus bets and site credit accrued from these college football betting promos often can be used on these bets, and the Buckeyes are near the top of the list in CFP title odds at +700. Those odds trail two-time defending champion Georgia (+220) and perennial powerhouse Alabama (+600).

Rival Michigan always looms in the Big Ten, but it is likely that Ohio State will advance to its fourth College Football Playoff in five seasons. From there, it’s about winning two games to be crowned college football’s best.

Ohio State Odds to win the Big Ten

We don’t expect any team in the Big Ten Leaders Division to contend with Ohio State, Michigan and Penn State in the East Division. So, essentially this bet comes down to one question: Can Ohio State finally get over the Michigan hump?

This year’s game is in Ann Arbor in a game the Buckeyes will likely be underdogs in. College football betting apps have set the Buckeyes’ Big Ten title odds at +180, and there’s value there if you think they can stop the Wolverines from a three-peat.

Ohio State Win Total Odds

Kyle McCord or Devin Brown will take over for CJ Stroud, who was drafted second overall by the Texans after an historic run under center for the Buckeyes. How either of those players perform will likely tip the scales of this bet that you can access at BetMGM after signing up with the BetMGM Ohio bonus code, which gives them -105 odds to reach 11 victories.

The Buckeyes have won 11 or more games in 10 consecutive full seasons (not counting 2020’s COVID-shortened campaign in which they went 7-1), and the only real non-conference test is a road game at Notre Dame in late September.

The Buckeyes get Penn State, Michigan State and Maryland at home to help matters, and we would have confidence in them in a bowl game even if they suffered two regular-season losses and missed out on the Big Ten Championship Game.
